Former Drug Addicts Lead 500 to Christ!

Having arrived in Southeast Asia nearly three years ago, we have been praying for and searching for opportunities to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. Recently, while visiting a couple who had launched a rehab center for drug addicts and survivors of human trafficking, we learned some great news. The couple had recently been given land to start an organic garden and a coffee shop, which they will use as a job-training site for the rehab participants.

When two new believers who recently graduated from this rehab center went back to their hometown and shared their testimonies of what God had done for them, more than 500 people came to trust in Christ as their Savior! Due to the large number of new believers from this revival, a regional church had to send pastors over to the community to help disciple the new believers. The government did not step in because among the new believers were many drugs addicts who had been healed and become well-behaved, contributing citizens in their own villages.

The couple who launched the rehab center has asked us to come alongside them to train and disciple participants. The government here does not control what someone teaches as long as the teaching helps the participants be better citizens, so we can freely witness and train the participants. Praise the Lord for this wide-open door! We are praying about how God wants us to be involved. Please pray for us as we evaluate newly opened doors.
