Joy Brown: Home with Her Savior

On October 10, 2021, Joy Brown, Open Bible missionary to Mexico, went home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, a few days before her 64th birthday.

Joy was a vital part of the ministry of God Is On The Move along with her husband, Del, and her father and mother, Bill and Fayth McConnell. Joy relished helping those in need – in orphanages, in prisons, at the rehab ranch, and on the street. Many were brought to Christ.

“She fought hard, and we all were praying hard too,” said Global Missions Director Vince McCarty. “However, the Lord decided to take her home. Her smile and ‘joy’ were contagious, and she always looked for ways to help and bless others. Her love and compassion for the people of Mexico could be seen in everything she did, and she leaves behind a legacy of sacrifice and ministry which will continue to produce fruit for God’s Kingdom for many generations to come. Although we all will miss her greatly, she now is at the feet of Jesus hearing those words, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant.’”

Open Bible President Randall A. Bach said, “Joy valiantly fought the good fight until the Lord said, ‘Joy, it is time to come on home and be free.’”

Joy leaves behind her husband, Del, and two children, Tami and Aaron.
