Friends, partners in ministry, and family gathered together at First Church of the Open Bible in Des Moines, Iowa, on August 21, 2021, to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of President Randall A. Bach and Barbara, his wife.
The reception was planned at the initiative of Darrick Young, a member of Open Bible’s National Board of Directors and pastor of Journey Church of the Open Bible in Urbandale, Iowa. Darrick formed a planning committee that included Ken Groen, former pastor and former Central Region Executive Director and his wife, Nadine; Nicole Kerr, Randall’s executive assistant; and the Bachs’ fellow church members Cheryl Heil, Lynn Schlenker, and Cindy Hammerberg. Chris Cavan, Open Bible’s digital media manager, took pictures and created a slideshow for the event.
One of the day’s highlights was the presentation by the committee of a painting of the couple done by Joneile Emery. Joneile and Gary, her husband, are long-time friends of the Bachs. Gary is a former Regional Executive Director for the Pacific Region.
Barbara said, “August 14, 2021, was truly SIGNIFICANT! That is the word I would use to describe our 50th Anniversary! We feel beyond blessed knowing the faithfulness of God, friends and partners in ministry, and family!”
