Nathan Hagan Appointed Southeast Region Executive Director

Nathan Hagan was appointed as executive director of Southeast Region, effective July 1, 2019. Installation was held on May 3, 2019.

Nathan has served on staff at Turning Point Open Bible Church in Spokane, Washington, since 1997 and has been associate pastor since 2010. One of his first assignments was to launch Open Bible’s first Master’s Commission program, which he accomplished with excellence. He served as a member of the Discover Ministry School strategic planning team and director for the school’s Spokane site. He also served on the board of directors for Life Services of Spokane, a ministry for women who face unplanned pregnancies.  Nathan is currently enrolled in the PhD in Leadership Studies program at Gonzaga University.

Nathan and his wife, Candi, are eager to establish and grow relationships with churches and ministers of Southeast Region and to fulfill their passion to pursue missional fruitfulness. He said, “Candi and I consider it a tremendous honor to join the Southeast Region Open Bible family but are also equally humbled to follow the rich history of leadership provided by Dr. Jim and Kris Beaird as well as Rev. Ken and Trudy Piper before them. Without a doubt, the legacy of harvest-oriented ministry is apparent in the Southeast’s beautifully multi-cultural history. That excites us. But even more, we are thrilled at the opportunity to be a part of together forging a future of mission pursuit and harvest, aligned with God’s heart in reaching those disconnected from Him. We are eager to roll up our sleeves and work with the ministers and churches of the Southeast Region.”

“Barbara and I extend our heartiest congratulations to Nathan and Candi,” said Open Bible President Randall A. Bach. “They are quality servant leaders for the Lord and Open Bible Churches. Instead of remaining in a comfortable and established place of ministry, the Hagans have stepped out by faith into a new frontier of opportunity and challenge, a huge change. Becoming a regional executive director involves a major learning curve. However, Nathan Hagan is ready; God has been preparing and seasoning him for many years for such a time as this.”

The regional executive director responsibility is an appointed position by the president of Open Bible Churches in consultation with the regional board of directors, approved by the national board of directors, and ratified by Open Bible credentialed ministers who reside in the region. Nathan succeeds Dr. Jim Beaird, who retired after 17 years of serving the region.
